Who We Are

Street Tin Car Club is a group of Vintage/Hot Rod enthusiasts located in the Spokane, WA. area.  The club membership is open to anyone with a car/truck 1972 or older.  The club meets every 3rd Tuesday for a pot luck dinner and a general meeting.  Membership fees are $20 a year which covers a member and spouse.  Street Tin sponsors a major car show yearly and is actively involved in community service projects.  New participants are always welcome.


Club History

1972 - Guy Hawks and Ron Reavill start Street Tin as a club for pre-1949 cars.  They sponsored family oriented rod runs, pot lucks and drive in cruises.

1973 - The original 12 charter members sponsored their first rod run at the Holiday Inn West.

1974 - Street Tin (with an old pick-up full of refreshments) heads to Liberty Lake Park with a police escort.  Returned to Holiday Inn for a dance.

1975 - Club begins the "Ritzville Shakedown Cruise".  Purpose was to check modifications made over the winter.  Cruise now occurs in May.

1983 - Club comes near to being disbanded.  Skip Burfoot, Sam DeCaro, John DeCaro, Steve Hopkins and Denny Sulpizio unite to continue.

Swap Meet/Car Show - First event date is unrecorded but event occurred at Sears Northtown, Beckers, K-Mart and Montgomery Wards, Wandermere.  Event is currently held at Spokane Community College

2001 - Club votes to accept cars from 1949-1972 modeling a national trend set by GoodGuys.  Street Tin continues to be family oriented.  All events are open to families and both spouses have voting rights in all club decisons.

2022 - Street Tin will continue to sponsor events, organize cruises, support local community projects and promote fun and safety in the Classic Car and Street Rod Worlds.
